Any silos that restrict engagement and interaction should be broken. Since, older offices with previously built infrastructure may not facilitate this, there are other options one could consider: For example having discussions in coffee/tea areas; having lunch with colleagues with whom we have not been regularly interacting are some ideas which have worked well (based on my experiences) - as they build the bed rock of collaborative mindsets amongst members. Mental silos are worse than physical silos !!!

Very True "Mental silos are worse than physical silos".
I concur with idea of having coffee table discussion of ideas over dedicated ideation sessions.
The challenge in post pandemic time is working in remote environment and not able to have those informal or casual discussions which invoke further critical thinking.
In my opinion, the informal setup in remote mechanism requires an extra effort to break those silos and open up.
Digital collaboration platforms have to be promoted.
