Is Passion and Intraprenuership same?

As we know Intrapreneurship is an act or a process that enables start up mind set of work operations to accelerate execution on an innovative idea to project or deliver a strategic project in a large organisation. Lot many times we get overwhelmed by seeing people with lot of passion on their day-to-day work and think there is an act of intrapreneurship.

Here are some of my insights & perspectives on Passion and Intrapreneurship.

Passion

Passion can be on domain knowledge, products.

Passionate can be on programming, leading a project.

Passion can make someone an expertise in technology or something.

Passion can be delivering presentations, Communications.

Intraprenuership

Intrapreneurs are self-starters and make things happen.

Intrapreneurs are passionate about connecting the dots between customers, product & technology.

Intrapreneurship is about using the right resources to build rapid prototypes, creating a product, creating a revenue stream.

Intrapreneurship is a journey of an individual that leads to demonstration of Leadership, change management, engaging resources, execution.

John, To add on: If you are passionate about what you are pursuing, you will not hesitate to face any challenges you may encounter during the journey with less negative energies and your passion will keep you focused on your target. Performing with passion enhances the outcome.

Thanks John for articulating the correlation. You can be passionate and not be an intrapreneur but an intrapreneur definitely has to have the ‘passion’ to identify opportunities, create solutions and drive change. Along with passion I would also add ‘purpose’ for the energy to be positively channelised for effective outcomes. I read this term and found it very apt to define the intrapreneurial drive ‘work as a calling’

Agreed Puja. Intraprenuer should be passionate and definitely have a purpose to drive an outcome..

Thank you for asking. My Perspective. Creative skills can be trained for and does not necessarily be determined by birth. There are tools and methodologies for creative thinking and problem solving, that can inspire people to think differently.
